Everywhere there are chromium, humming engines, thousands and thousands of motorcycles... Harley Davidson indeed, clones of H-D, choppers, clones of choppers (in bigger number ?), Sportsbikes and cute girls... of any ages !

Before a small ballad in Florida, which will lead me until Key West, it was like an evidence to land here, Daytona and beginning the trip by the most famous Bike Week on the world. It'll be my third Bike Week and every time I plunge with madness, head in the handlebars, in Main St.

Bike Week is a tradition since 1937 when Ed " Iron Man " Katz, now in the Columbus Hall of Fame (Ohio), won the first Daytona 200.

Begun on Main st., Bike Week became too « big » for this street and extends now almost everywhere in the county of Daytona Beach.

That you are a hard-line biker, a week-end biker, a sportsbikes pilot, a HOG member, a motocross enthusiast, a dragster pilot, that you dream about freedom, about big spaces, about brotherhood, these are 10 days for you !

Whatever we say about it !

The various events and contests are always waiting awaited visitors but showbikes, concerts and wet T-shirt contests in saloons are the most popular by bikers..

Very appreciated too, the « ladies on wheels ».

They are about 10 % of the bikers and a supplementary reason, to be attentive on Main St...

And not only for security !...

But the main problem it would be necessary to be everywhere, on Main St. and Beach St. indeed, but also in saloons, campsites, in the Speedway until Orlando that moves !

A true marathon then it is necessary to choose... at what time I exchange the Canon for the Jack ?... by example !

But there are also less known builders who often show surprising models, overflowing of energy, creativity and ingenuity without spreading the money of the custom builder stars ! The tendency for these last ones seems to be vintage look, high tech engine and flashy color.

The fashion of big ass crossed for some years the Atlantic Ocean but this year more than the others ones there is some gum in excess weight!

The only one, the best one, the essential... have got a good credit card... Not the card of the poor man, the triple gold... because if you want to have fun you have to do it hot ! think the accomodation one year in advance or agree to live outside of Daytona...

No more badly, especially more quiet and a little less expensive because during Bike Week (and races at Speedway) the prices are delirious...

It is also necessary to clarify that the bikers which are for the party are not all fans of Harley. This rally also attracts the speed addicts and we begin to see more and more stands which are dedicated to them notably towards Speedway.

After all, Daytona 200 is a running race! And it is very well so !

Bike Week takes place during 10 days and the weekends are very hot where the bustle, the characters and excesses are at the top on Main St.

It was better before ? the girls are not so nude... at present very strict laws dictate the minimum size of bikinis and strings. But don't worry, they are always so cute.

Bike Week keep on to be THE favorite destination of all bikers of the world. And even a greenhorn will have understood that a journey in Florida does not limit itself in a meeting with the friends of Mickey, or waiting for a rocket wants to take off from Cap Canaveral.

Already the roaring pipes, the tanned and smiling faces miss me. I cannot forget this girl, on Main St, which attracted all the glances.
